THIS PRESENTATION IS A MIX OF THINKING FROM LECTURES, EMOTIONAL REACTION , INTUITION ET OBSESSION i HAVE AND WANNA RESOLVE. i'M GONNA TRY MAKE IT AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE
those ideas seems both conservativ and prgressist. In a certain place it cals art to come back to the previous probleme of being a tool for the power (because gainst from within seems to be the only way to be against) and at the same time it's calling for art to be as strong as mainstrime media and advertisment tools are and for that it open new possibilities

onWHEN i THNIK WHERE IS THE ART COMING FROM
Art as an isolated discipline seems for me to be a recent invention from modernism.
what we see mostly as art before the XXth century is paintings and sculpture.
painters where either paid to make images of rich/powerfull poeple either to paint religious scene for the church who was part of the political power.
Art today is made as a complete area of freedom and creativity.
At the time painting (for exemple) wasn't "art" but a tool to transmit ideas and image (image of poeple so add). And is in this essential need for the power strucure that "artist" would pops up, sneaks into the media and plays with it in a way that would be able to be transgrssief.
in temple a ugly painting would still be praid, you couldn't harm it cause it is the image of god. their where an inner value.
DO YOU WANNA LEARN TO MAKE DRAWINGS THAT WILL BLOW POEPLE'S MIND
Jeff Koons is often compared to Rubens to explain the proportion of his studio and the number of poeple working for him. I think it is a bad comparaison because Jeff koons is for me part of an "underground" cultur, the art world, when Rubens was a worker of the mainstream culture creating representation for the religious narratives, or images of politic or economic power.
quote
I wanted to talk at firs about Target advertissment and this add I got all tht time "".
But I think it's better if I start by talking about old art before. I think my talk is about a relation to mainstream culture and maybe to the relation between culture in genral and the art world. I will introduce some ideas that came from texts of the axcelerationist mouvement I read recently and other thoughts I have to try to explain you why I'm intrested in this topic.
So first I would like to present some consideration about very classical painting. I'm gonna put this work of Rubens in the background to talk about it. I think what I'm trying to understand is what is this contemporary idea of Art as a discipline in itself and art as this free space where everything is kinda allowed.
We use to refer often classical paintings and sculpture as the past of what we call art today.
The painters and sculpteur where working in big studio with a lot of assisstant and the task of those poeple were to creat images for religious narrative or representation of poeple of power. They weren't any kind of free artiste but workers whose had the role to propagate specific narratives and morals serving a religious, econimic and politique power. That had a fonction in socity. And from time to time, maybe someone with a bit more of sensibility or something, an artiste, would sneak into this industry and creat something different and that would open news possibility, new modes of representation and imagining and then maybe offering something new to this cultur.
For my the legitime child of this part of art history is not at all the "art world" of today. for me the art world have a minor impact on the global culture. For me it is the studio of cinema and series, the mass media and all the methods of advertisment that leads the big narratives and the cultur, I mean mainstream culture of today.
And I wonder if this place of Art, that is very free, it's like this play ground where you can do feel everything. But it also feel like it's that way becaus it is isolated from the place were tension are and where power represent himself.
I wonder if the art world is not too free to allow anything really "subversif", what I mean by subversif Is something that is changing the status quo and normes of general culture ,
that's all vague thought and pessimissme I have to deal with at the moment
now I would like to read a little pice of texte of an interviewin an art publication with Alex Williams and Nick Srnicek who wrote the manifesto for the axcelerationiste movement. I won't explain what is it here but they explain quiet well here one of their principale idea that is the one of folks politic that is also reused in the art world
here they are talking in culture about the relation between underground and mainstream. My own actual pessimisme towards the art worlds make me go event more far and say that in our global culture the art world is an underground , is a marginal communiti and that the creiticisme and imaginaries created in the art world need to be deployed beyond it.
i considere an artiste not as a person delivering production to the "art world" but as somoene reflecting on the culture of the society he / she lives in ans is taking position and action towards it.
actually my first idea was to present an art scene I'm intrested in. I was quite intrested in the scene of Young visual artiste working with 3D imagering like Jesse Kanda, Sam Rolfes or Claudia Mate. I was intrested not especially for the shared esthetique of this scene but more for the economie of those artiste who are a mix of a capacity to share and find exposure themself for their digital work with internet, that for some is even the way they start, Mixed with some apparition in the art world and work with studio for advertissment. micing a completely autonomous practice where they can be they own distributor and at the same time acting in mainstream culture production.
